Fundraiser, Announcements & Reminders - 9/4/26
Today, the OHS Orchestra began its first fundraiser of the year, Scratch Off cards. The premise is simple - it’s like a scratch lottery ticket in reverse. Donors scratch off one or more bubbles and donate the amount of money revealed to the student/program. Each bubble is worth between $1 and $5, so each bubble is a small donation, but it all adds up!
If students sell an entire scratch off card, their $50 assessment will be comped if it has not already been paid.
Any additional cards sold after the first one will go toward the cost of the student’s spring trip! (More information forthcoming… we’re in the final stages of admin approval.)
Here’s what the scratch off cards look like.
Other Announcements:
All students have a chair test due this weekend (Tuesday, 9/8). So far only four students have turned it in, so I better see a LOT of instruments going home this weekend!
First set of masteries is due the following weekend (Sunday, 9/13), so be practicing and working on those assignments!
Big Little Social is on the evening of Thursday, 9/17. I’ll have more information for you next week!
If you qualified for a Letterman (you know who you are), fittings are Wednesday, 9/9, the day we get back next week. Don’t forget your letter jacket packets!
Lastly, if you’re planning on trying out for All-Region Orchestra, I’m doing entries next week and will need a final commitment one way or another. If you’re auditioning, you REALLY need to be practicing!
As always, if you have any questions, please let me know.
