Announcements & Reminders - September 11, 2026
Announcements and Reminders in no particular order as we wrap up the second week of September:
Masteries - ALL students have a set of Masteries due this weekend. These assignments are pass/fail.
If a student achieves sufficient Mastery of the material, they receive a 100.
If they don’t achieve the expected level of success, or they don’t turn in the assignment, they receive a 0 until they practice, correct the essential mistakes, and make up the assignment.
The assignments can be made up for full credit anytime through October 6th. There are no late penalties for these assignments - I care about you learning the material, even if it is late.
Chair Tests - The first chair test is now past due, and many have not turned it in. Unlike masteries, these do have late penalties! Please take care of missing chair tests asap, as the next two chair tests have already been posted!
Fundraiser - Keep selling the scratch off fundraiser! We’ll keep it running until we start our candle sale at the end of the month. If you need another scratch off card, ask me!
Cinergy Big/Little Social - Next week on Thursday, 9/17, we’ll have our bowling social at Cinergy from 6:00 to 8:00. Pizza buffet will be ready at 6:00. Cost is $10 to the student, the booster club is paying the rest - you can bring me the money whenever you have the chance between now and next Thursday.
Sectionals - Symphony, remember, sectionals are mandatory. If you believe you have an excused reason to be absent, it is your responsibility to come talk to me for approval. (Cellos, we need to sort out scheduling next week!)
Trip - I’m hoping to be able to release information SOON! I’m still waiting on the final approval - I’m so sorry for the delay, I’m doing everything I can!
All-Region Auditions - Lastly, those students auditioning for All-Region, Auditions are on Saturday the 26th (two weeks away!) at Midland High School. You need to be ELIGIBLE on your next progress report to compete! Keep your grades up, and if you want to schedule a one-on-one session with me, let’s talk!
As always, if you have any questions, please reach out to me and let me know.
